Steve McDavid has extensive litigation experience in commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, and legal malpractice defense, and bankruptcy. Steve’s experience in transactional matters includes the representation of, on an ongoing basis, several computer software companies, authors, musicians, and developers of commercial and residential real estate projects. In addition, his practice includes the protection of intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademark, trade name and patent matters.
Education & Awards
Steve graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. He received his J.D. form the University of Alabama, which he attended on academic scholarship. While in law school, Steve served as Senior Editor of the Alabama Law Review, Honor Court Justice and Secretary of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society.

Steve has served as an Adjunct Professor in Intellectual Property at the University of Mississippi School of Law. Steve has spoken at numerous legal seminars on topics of Intellectual Property protection. Steve, who is active in local, state and national bar associations, serves as the Chairman of the Intellectual Property Section of the Mississippi Bar and President of the Lafayette County Bar Association.

Steve is a Trustee of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation and serves as President and General Counsel. He is married to the former Rosemary Adams of New Orleans, Louisiana. He and his wife have two adult children, Adams and Henry.
